Sam Stern is a litigator and trial lawyer specializing in civil and criminal litigation.

Prior to founding Stern LLC, he previously worked at Kobre & Kim LLP, in the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney, and as a state prosecutor in Florida and New Jersey.

Additionally, Sam teaches trial advocacy to law students and experienced lawyers at the University of Miami School of Law and at the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law.  He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

  • The former wife and daughter in an inter-family dispute over a guardianship and subsequent +$100 million estate in Naples, Florida.

  • A senior Volkswagen employee charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Clean Air Act in the VW emissions investigation.

  • A medical device company and its officers in an investigation by the SEC and obtaining a non-scienter fraud settlement after receiving a pre-representation 10-b5 Wells notice.

  • A senior in-house lawyer of an orthopedic device company in a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigation by the DOJ and SEC.

  • The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) against multiple Wall Street banks in litigation concerning mortgage-backed securities.
